Going Gray... 10/12/2009
![]() Up until now, I have not felt the need to disclose my age, for two reasons:
That said, it seems as if I'm pulling the rug out from under my feet when I tell anyone my age. They usually respond in shock & then say "Oh my, you're so young! You always seem much older/wiser than that!" See what I mean? So, how old am I? 36. Honestly, I don't find this too young when it comes to Mom advice purely for the fact that I gave birth to my first child at 21! I've got 15 years of experience under this hood! Which brings me to the Question Of The Day: What do you do about gray hair? Now, these pesky little buggers started showing up about a year ago & for awhile I convinced myself that it must have been how the lighting was reflecting on my natural highlights {ha ~ that was obviously a state of denial!} Until of course, the day arrived when one of my friends said "You have a gray hair!" with a huge smile on her face... we're no longer friends :-) Where I'm sure the misconception {okay, denial} came in on my part is because upon birth ~ I was what you call a "toe-head", so blond my hair was CLEAR! {yes, I have the disturbing baby pictures to prove it! The ones where my mother's desperate attempt to tell the world she had a GIRL looked like bows that had been super glued to my head} Then as a child I was that brilliant blond everyone buys kits to try & mock. Into my adulthood & subsequent motherhood, I became that "dishwater blond" {not my favorite color, but whatever} So now, as I've obviously began the downhill decent to my 40's it is becoming clear that I may be headed for the Gray Days sooner than I thought. So I'm curious ~ what does everyone else do?
I'd love some advice, if you're up for commenting ... but a few clicks into the poll would work nicely too. Show me the Momma~Girlfriend love ... :-) TOAM Commentstiara Wed, 02 Dec 2009 05:47:04 If it helps.. I'm 35 and completely white headed now... been going grey forever... I used to dye it but it just speeds up the color leaving you.. I say embrace it! Thoughts of a Mom Wed, 02 Dec 2009 13:18:58 Tiara, Leave a Reply |
