3 Letter Word... 09/03/2009
![]() I've been thinking a lot about the stages & phases this simple 3 letter word goes through. MOM I mean honestly ... ... how can one simple word go through so much change? And how can children have so much talent to pull 15 syllables from it one day & barely make it a snippet the next? Such was the case from DS#1 the other day {in front of his high school} As my chauffeur duties were in full swing, the car conversation was humming along. Until a topic that we didn't see eye to eye on was brought up. I did my typical "mom" advising & he did his typical "teenage" attitude. But then as we neared the entrance of the high school it was as if someone had zapped him with a magnetic force that pulled out the "know-it-all" syndrome. By the time we had looped through the parking lot to the office area where he was set to get out {or be jettison by my foot} he began the 'snippet Mom' response. I gotta tell ya folks, I never thought I would be the kind of Mom to joke about my own child's death, but then the hormones kicked in :o) Now my phrase is "he's lucky he's not 6 feet under" to the F5. Of course, they listen ... they laugh ... they sympathize & the ones who have been through it before offer their words of wisdom & those who are yet to come in future years listen with complete fear. If my sweet little DS#1, who was always the 'good one', can go so sour with hormones ... can theirs too? The experts keep predicting that they all out grow it, but they never say how the parents fare in the end ... will we out grow it? Looking for your thoughts, TOAM CommentsLeave a Reply |
