What do you do when a girlfriend offers to take you for a pedicure & then takes you to the "slam-bam-thank-you-mam" joint?

You smile politely & tell yourself "this will be a great adventure!" {as long as I don't come out of it with any rare fungus!}

So, in we go. Directed to sign into the reservation sheet {there were 5 empty chairs} & "pick a color".

Once in my 'spa chair' {& feet submerged in the blue water} I'm assigned the guy.

Hmmm.

Can't say I've ever had a guy do my pedi before ~ this should be interesting :o)

I settle in & decide {to keep my anxiety at bay} I'll play with the controls for the chair ... moments later my girlfriend is trying to have a serious conversation with me while I'm being pummeled by the "deep tissue" massage. I'm sure to the onlooker, it was hilarious!

Soak, clip, file, scrub ... paraffin. Paraffin??? Wow, this place is higher class than I expected! Then I dipped my feet into it. The temperature was so hot that I immediately felt like I was going to wet my pants! I whispered to my girlfriend about this sudden urge to pee my pants! And of course, my pedi guy looked up in horror! :o)

"No, I'm kidding", I said. But seriously? I was having vivid memories of summer camp when we tried to make someone wet the bed by dipping their hands in warm water!

Feet wrapped in plastic he asks about my color & if I'd like a flower like my friend. Glancing over I notice the artwork her pedi girl has elegantly painted on her big toes ... I'm in!

I've never had anything other than color on my toes, it's always reminded me a little too much of the days I played with Strawberry Shortcake & her crew ... but today, I was feeling much more free spirited!

Besides, if it turned out horrible I could always take the acetone to it at home {no feelings hurt there}

Then he began his concentrated work ... this guy is definitely in the wrong industry! {see picture for post} He needs to consider submitting work to an amateur gallery! No stickers here ... all free handed with unique tools.

I was impressed!

So much so, that when I got home I showed off my big toes to my boys & DH ... we all agreed:

"Dude, a guy did that?!?"
