Gifted Dog... 06/14/2009
About now our DD is 2 years old in human years - so that's 14 in dog years, right??? The DD has recently taken to sleeping in our walk-in closet ~ under MY clothes. (which hang on a lower bar) **note: DD is a Black Lab** At first, I thought this closet habit was cute - his very own bedroom :o) Until the other night I could hear him making a ruckus in there - upon further investigation I found he wasn't quite happy with the decor. He had taken to (somehow) pulling down several hanging garments & making his own comfy quarters! My once laundered & nicely hanging garments now lay piled on the floor (hangers still in tact, btw!) Stunned, I stood there just as impressed as I was shocked! When I came to my senses, I kicked him out of the closet & began picking up - realizing anything below 3 feet would need to be rewashed. If he didn't get it off the rack, he made every attempt to make his mark ~ there was black hair on EVERYTHING!!! Heading back to bed I shut the pocket door that separates the closet from our bathroom. No kidding, 15 minutes later DD begins pacing between his doggie bed in our room & my closet door. Just as I was sure he was going to have to give up & lay on his own bed we heard him open the door with his nose!!! (insert virtual husband cracking up & my jaw dropping) Much like how I resist to punish the kids for their ingenious ideas at the wrong time, I didn't have the heart to yell at my poor determined pooch. So, after showing him back to HIS bed I closed the bathroom door (it has an actual handle). I truly believe the DS#1 teenager & the DD are in cahoots to see who can drive me nuts first, of course by charming me with their creative efforts all the way! TOAM CommentsLeave a Reply |
