Dad's & Sunscreen... 06/13/2009
What is it with my DH & applying sunscreen? DS#2's class organized a field trip to the local water slide park for the day after school was out - which REQUIRED parent chauffeurs. Since I was working, Dad was going to have to take this one. I lovingly packed a healthy cooler, (P,B & J's ~ grapes ~ cheese sticks ~ Gatorade ~ granola bars) Made sure there were enough beach towels, Provided a clean car ... And when met with resistance about applying the sunscreen before they left (it would be sticky during the drive I was told) I put the AEROSOL SPRAY SUNSCREEN in the cooler with the agreement from all parties that it would be applied as soon as they exited the vehicle. Humph! I knew I should have tackled them & sprayed away before they left! Sticky during the drive??? (insert your best vision of an insane mom here) TOO BAD!!!!!! Because, don't you know ~ who's the one who has to listen to DS#2's complaints of pain????? Of course, after nurturing the sunburn (on DS#2 ONLY, DH was on his own!) I calmly & lovingly explained that all parties involved could have put their own sunscreen on - even if the adult in the situation didn't take care of it! I've learned my lesson too ... no matter how easy they make things to use, it still requires the action of using it! Anyone else suffering from loving DH, horrible sunscreen applyer????
