The Passing of a Legend... 04/02/2009
Today we said "Good-bye" to my husband's great-grandmother. She was 102 years old. She still lived in her own home & cooked her own meals. She was my kind of lady. When the family decided to take her driving privileges away (at age 95) she resorted to sneaking her car out using her hidden spare key! She continued to wear beautiful jewelry, get her hair done weekly and keep plenty of candy on hand for the grandchildren. When I told my kids they began to tear up & I promptly let them know this is one loved one's passing that we are going to celebrate! She truly lived her life! She got up out of bed every morning & started her day with an amazing smile. She adored her flower garden and was elated every time someone stopped by to visit. She was full of wisdom and witnessed some of the most amazing changes one lifetime could see. We will miss her, that is for sure. But we will always carry her with us in our memories of her legendary existence. CommentsLeave a Reply |
