Cuba Gooding Jr. brings an amazing performance to this made for TV movie by TNT with Johnson & Johnson.

Raised by a single mother Ben & his brother are always challenged by her to do better. Facing her own challenges (and demons) she recognizes the self esteem issues her young son has embraced and accepted as his fate during a time when black men were not expected to excel.

Life takes an amazing detour when Ben's Mom puts the future of her sons first & finds the tools to give them a better life.

Through the help of his mother, a high school science teacher and a college sweetheart Ben finds his way to the interview of a lifetime - an intern at John's Hopkins Pediatric Ward.

Always following his heart & staying true to what he feels is right Ben goes on to become one of the best pediatric neurosurgeons in the world.

I don't want to give too much of the ending away other than to say - many families have a determined mother to thank for their children's health!

My own children will be watching the live airing of this movie tonight on TNT at 8/7c
