Yesterday was the BIG fishing derby for DH.

Now remember, he is our avid fisherman ... {we can usually cover ALL holiday gifts by smoking what he catches in the fall}

On the last day of our trip we decided to completely embrace my scenic route {directionally impaired} talent & try a completely unknown way of heading home.

For anyone not paying attention {or new to the site} I am the lonely girl amongst my two boys & my husband. So when it came time for our next adventure, I was, hands down, out voted.

We stayed with DH's cousin & his wife for our next "leg" of the trip. Upon arrival we thought we were the only ones there, except for the 'cute' chickens & the two mules {recent additions} until we discovered a gentleman at the back corner of the house.

I find it so interesting that when I'm with my kids on my own I am one of the most together people you'll come across, yet ~ when I have DH along I seem to fall into this "ditz" mode!

During our lively game of "Rubberneckers" {see previous post} I assign DH as the co-pilot for the state park I wanted to visit ...

After the partaking of huge amounts of sugar & caffeine at the Spud Nut Shop, I needed to get some real food. So DS#1 offered to have breakfast with me at the hotel while DS#2 & DH began getting things picked up.
